"A billionaire but still a loser" - Martina Navratilova lashes out at Elon Musk over him wanting Donald Trump as US President
Martina Navratilova has taken a furious swipe at Elon Musk over the billionaire's support for Donald Trump in the buildup to the 2024 US presidential elections. According to Navratilova, Musk would even go to the extent of seeing the US experiencing an economic crisis to see Trump voted into power once more.
Musk has openly declared his allegiance to Trump. Furthermore, the billionaire's desire to see the former US President in power again reportedly goes beyond simple political support. America Pac, a Musk-backed political action committee, is now in charge of Trump's electoral campaign at the ground level.
Recently, the billionaire also said that if Trump's political rival Kamala Harris becomes the new US President, NASA's Mars program would be jeopardized and humanity would be doomed.
On Thursday, Sept. 26, award-winning journalist Carl Quintanilla revisited one of Musk's posts on X from last year. In the post, the billionaire had written that 2023 had a lot in common with 1929, the year of 'Black Tuesday', a major American stock market crash that lasted from September to November that year.
Quintanilla joked that the Standard and Poor's (S&P) 500, the stock market index that tracks the stock performance of USA stock exchanges' 500 biggest companies, went up by 50% after Musk's 2023 post. Martina Navratilova, a former World No. 1 and 18-time Major singles winner, reshared Quintanilla's post and harshly criticized the billionaire. Navratilova wrote:
"It’s like he is begging for things to go to hell so people will elect the criminals orange guy. What a loser. A billionaire but still a loser and a traitor".
Navratilova has doubled down on her anti-Trump rhetoric in recent times. The 67-year-old had previously spoken out against the former US President over his claims that women in the country would stop thinking about abortion.
Donald Trump was branded a 'toxic narcissist' by Martina Navratilova
During a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, on Saturday, Sept. 21, Donald Trump boldly claimed that women residing in the USA will not have to consider abortion if he becomes the US President for the second time. The 78-year-old's claim came in the aftermath of intense criticism that Republicans faced following the death of Georgia native Amber Thurman, reportedly due to the state's anti-abortion laws.
However, according to Martina Navratilova, Trump's claim reflected his 'toxic narcissist' personality. Taking to X, Navratilova suggested that the 78-year-old's personality is further degrading with time:
"What a toxic narcissist- and getting worse".
Navratilova herself, in stark contrast to Elon Musk, is backing Kamala Harris as the next US President.
