Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter achieve tennis couple goals as they clinch titles in 's-Hertogenbosch and Nottingham within hours of each other

Tennis couple Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter started their respective grass-court seasons with title wins at 's-Hertogenbosch and Nottingham, respectively. This is the second time in 2024 that they have won tournaments during the same week, having done so in March when De Minaur won the Abierto Mexicano Telcel in Acapulco while Boulter triumphed at the San Diego Open.

De Minaur and Boulter have been together for four years and are enjoying the best season of their careers this year. Their ongoing season just got better as both of them got off to a flying start at the grass swing, clinching titles in the first tournaments they played.

The Aussie was the top seed at the Libema Open and defeated Zizou Bergs, Milos Raonic, and Ugo Humbert en route to the final dropping no set in his entire run. He comfortably defeated Sebastian Korda 6-2, 6-4 to win the title.

Boulter, on the other hand, was the third seed and the defending champion who defeated Harriet Dart, Rebecca Marino, Magdalena Frech, and Emma Raducanu to reach the final. She defeated Karolina Plisova in her third win from a set down 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 to successfully defend her title just hours after her boyfriend's win.

This was the second time they achieved this feat this year. On March 2, Alex de Minaur defeated Casper Ruud to successfully defend his title at the Acapulco Open. A day later, Katie Boulter defeated Marta Kostyuk to win the San Diego Open.

"I want to say a small special thank you to Alex de Minaur ... I really want to embarrass him" - Katie Boulter

After his win in Acapulco, Alex de Minaur was asked if he was going to be joining the celebration party, to which the Aussie responded that he had to catch a flight to Tijuana because he wanted to watch his girlfriend Katie Boulter play in the final.

"No, I cannot because I've got a 6 am flight to go to Tijuana and go and watch Katie play in the final so I'm looking forward to that," De Minaur replied.

During her winning speech in San Diego, Boulter joked that she wanted to embarrass de Minaur by thanking him for coming to support her.

"I want to say a small special thank you to my boyfriend who finished last night at midnight and I really want to embarrass him," she joked.

The Brit later admitted that she appreciated the effort de Minaur took to be there.

"He got on a 4:15 taxi this morning and a 6’o clock flight to be here today. So I do appreciate it," Boulter added.

Alex de Minaur will play the Cinch Championships next where he is the second seed. He will take on Lorenzo Musetti in the opening round. Meanwhile, Katie Boulter will take in Anhelina Kalinina at the Birmingham Classic next.
