Alexander Bublik takes a dig at Ugo Humbert's Paris Masters final loss after Frenchman's controversial celebrations against injured Karen Khachanov

Alexander Bublik recently took a dig at Ugo Humbert's loss at the 2024 Paris Masters final. Humbert had engaged in exaggerated celebrations against an injured Karen Khachanov during the semifinals of the ATP Masters 1000 hard court tournament in Paris.

Humbert managed to achieve his best result at an ATP Masters 1000 tournament by finishing as the runner-up in Paris. Along the way, he defeated players like Brandon Nakashima, qualifier Marcos Giron, and Carlos Alcaraz in the first three rounds.

In the quarterfinals, the Frenchman overcame Jordan Thompson and then triumphed over Karen Khachanov in the semifinals to advance to the final where he lost the title to Alexander Zverev.

During the semifinal match, Humbert's supposedly excessive celebrations after winning against the injured Khachanov drew criticism. The post-match handshake between the two players was cold and tense.

Recently, a video of Ugo Humbert seemingly pumping himself up in front of a mirror before the final match against Alexander Zverev made rounds on social media.

The World No.14 lost the final to Zverev with a score of 2-6, 2-6, following which, Alexander Bublik took to social media to comment on Humbert's behavior.

Bublik, commented under the post of Humbert standing in front of the mirror, stating that the Frenchman was not as loud following his loss in the final compared to his controversial celebrations after defeating Khachanov in the semifinals.

"Not so loud today lol," Bublik commented.

Following his loss to Ugo Humbert in the semifinal of the 2024 Paris Masters, Karen Khachanov revealed that he had told the Frenchman to learn to "behave" at the net after their match, as his celebrations were exaggerated.

"I told him at the net to show more respect. He has no idea how to behave . I always fair play. I will congratulate him if he behaves like a normal person. That’s all I can say," Khachanov said .

Khachanov stated that while celebrating a victory is part and parcel of the game, excessive celebrations, especially when the opponent is injured, are unsportsmanlike.

"You can celebrate after with the crowd no problem. You can do whatever you want . But while you see injuries are part of the game to do it while you see the guy is on the ground? Okay, see you next time."

After his campaign at the 2024 Paris Masters, Ugo Humbert was set to defend his title at the 2024 Moselle Open. However, he has withdrawn from the tournament, with lucky loser Titouan Droguet taking his place in the main draw.
