"Always someone else's fault" - Andy Roddick calls out Donald Trump following his claims that presidential debate against Kamala Harris was 'rigged'
Andy Roddick criticized Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for claiming that his debate against Kamala Harris was "rigged". Trump also suggested that Harris was familiar with the questions beforehand.
In the first presidential debate between the Republican nominee Trump and the Democratic nominee Harris on Tuesday, September 10, several topics were up for discussion. The candidates argued about foreign policy, abortion, and immigration, among other things.
Later, in a call-in interview on Fox News' "Fox & Friends," Trump voiced his complaints about the debate. He criticized ABC News' moderators and called for the "terrible" network's license to be taken away. The 78-year-old also accused the debate of being "rigged".
“They had a rigged show with somebody that maybe even had the answers…I watched her talk, and I said, you know, she seems awfully familiar with the questions,” he stated.
Andy Roddick was tagged by a user on X under the above video. According to the user, the former US Open champion had predicted Trump's remarks. Roddick then further expressed his dissent:
"Everything is rigged. Always someone else’s fault ……. Got the Q’s before is a fun storyline that going around. Who could’ve guessed they were gonna talk about economy, immigration, abortion, Jan 6, Ukraine etc?"
Roddick doubled down on his comment when another X account agreed with Trump's remarks. The former World No. 1 said that the former President should have been prepared for such a line of questioning.
"They were the most basic and obvious debate questions ……. There were zero gotcha questions. I don’t understand how someone running for president could’ve possibly been surprised by what was asked. Unless they’re just painfully lazy and incapable or organizing a thought," Andy Roddick wrote.
Andy Roddick promotes Taylor Swift's endorsement of Kamala Harris after debate against Donald Trump
American musician Taylor Swift faced criticism from fans after she was seen hugging Patrick Mahomes' wife Brittany during the US Open final. Brittany seemingly voiced her support for Donald Trump by liking a comment in his favor.
However, Swift endorsed Kamala Harris after the debate in a lengthy post on Instagram. She addressed how Trump had used an AI-generated video of her 'falsely endorsing' him. The 14-time Grammy winner stated that she needed to get the truth out and wrote:
"I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election..."
Andy Roddick posted about Swift's endorsement on X. He noted that the artist had signed her name as 'Childless Cat Lady', which was seemingly a dig at Trump's running mate JD Vance. Roddick wrote:
"She signed the endorsement Childless Cat Lady ………. [microphone emoji] fell all the way down"
Martina Navratilova also promoted Swift's endorsement of Harris and stated that she had made Trump's 'awful night even worse'.
