Amanda Anisimova applauds Simone Biles and Team USA as they clinch women's gymnastics team gold at Paris Olympics 2024

American tennis star Amanda Anisimova cheered on Simone Biles and the rest of the U.S. women's gymnastics team as they kicked off Paris 'redemption tour' in style by reclaiming the top spot on the podium, a title they relinquished three years ago in Tokyo.

Anisimova is currently in Washington D.C. taking part in the Mubadala Citi DC Open. Ranked as high as 176 in the women's charts, Anisimova plowed through the qualifiers with impressive wins over eighth-seed Emina Bektas and second-seed Renata Zarazua.

Drawn against compatriot Sloane Stephens in the opener, Anisimova put on a strong display on serve and from the back of the court en route to an emphatic 6-3, 7-5 win, just her ninth of the season.

Anisimova took to her socials following Biles' win to congratulate the American gymnastics team on their Gold medal after missing out on it three years ago. Biles led them to victory with a gravity-defying routine on the floor. The Americans finished miles ahead of Italy and Brazil, who took silver and bronze respectively.

The win officially guaranteed Biles as the most decorated American gymnast in the history of the Olympic Games with a total of eight medals. She also has a combined 38 medals including all her world championship heists, making her the most decorated gymnast in the open era.

Plenty of stars were in attendance in the Bercy Arena on Tuesday night cheering on the Americans on their hunt for redemption. Serena Williams, Michael Phelps, Jason Kelce, Natalie Portman, Nicole Kidman, A'ja Wilson, and Jonathan Owens were among those who graced the historic occasion.
