Andre Agassi issues word of caution to Andy Roddick ahead of Pickleball Slam 3

American tennis legend Andre Agassi sent a hilarious message to his Pickleball rival Andy Roddick as the two gear up for a doubles clash. While Agassi will be paired with his wife Steffi Graff, Roddick will team up with Eugenie Bouchard to take on the power couple.

The two doubles pairs are scheduled to clash for a staggering $1 million paycheck in Las Vegas next month, and ahead of the highly anticipated battle, Agassi hilariously cautioned the 2003 US Open champion about his prowess. In a video shared by the official Instagram handle of The Pickleball Slam on Tuesday, the former World No. 1 said:

"Andy, as someone, you have always said has been a mentor to you. I look forward to teaching you something else on February 16: how to lose."

While Agassi and Roddick won the inaugural Slam against John McEnroe and Michael Chang in 2023, the 42-year-old wasn't part of last year's edition. The eight-time Grand Slam champion teamed up with his wife and 22-time Grand Slam champion Steffi Graff in 2024.

The two went up against and defeated John McEnroe and Maria Sharapova in 2024. They are now gearing up to defend their title against Roddick and Bouchard on February 16. Meanwhile, Roddick is after revenge after claiming he was 'dumped' by Andre Agassi following their win in the inaugural edition.

In a video uploaded by the official Instagram handle of the Pickleball Slam, Andy Roddick jokingly expressed his frustration on getting dropped from Andre Agassi's pickleball team after the pair won the inaugural edition against John McEnroe and Michael Chang in 2023. The 42-year-old joked he was coming for revenge, saying:

"This day was always coming, as soon as Andre dumped me from the winning team. Like, who wins and then gets dumped? I guess me, even worse when it's by your idol. So, I'm coming for him! There's no escape now! Andre's stamina obviously isn't what it once was. I think he legally collects social security now."

The two teams are all set to compete at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on February 16. The match will be televised live on the ESPN network and it will be interesting to see which team comes out on top in the end.
