Andy Roddick mocks Fox host's crowd size estimates at Donald Trump rally with sarcastic quip about his Grand Slams tally
Andy Roddick has reacted sarcastically to an estimated range of the crowd at Donald Trump's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The former American tennis player has been critical of the Republican presidential candidate and has voiced his opinion regularly.
On October 5, Trump returned to Butler where he faced an assassination attempt during a rally on July 13. The recent rally saw a huge crowd and they also witnessed Trump call up on stage one of his most powerful allies, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla.
During an interview with Fox News, Trump's running mate JD Vance was in conversation with Ainsley Earhardt. The host of the Fox & Friends show claimed that Trump's October rally in Butler boasted a crowd of between 20,000 and 100,000 people.
A video of the conversation was posted on X with the caption:
"While interviewing JD Vance, Ainsley Earhardt claims the crowd for Trump's rally in Butler on Saturday was "between 20,000 and 100,000" (it was closer to 20,000)"
Further, the X user also claimed that according to Emmy award-winning TV news reporter Jennifer Borrasso, the crowd was estimated to be 21,000 people.
Former US Open champion Roddick noted this and sarcastically commented:
"I won in a range of 1 to 12 tennis majors. Prove me wrong"
The American has played five Grand Slam finals but won only one in 2003, defeating Juan Carlos Ferrero in New York. With the U.S. presidential elections approaching, the 42-year-old has been vocal in his criticisms of the Republican candidate, frequently sharing his disapproval online.
Andy Roddick reacts to Donald Trump's claims of "smart immigrants" entering the USA using a "phone app"
During a campaign on Saturday, September 28, in Wisconsin, Trump said that immigrants use a phone app to come into the USA.
"They have a phone app so that people can come into our country… these are smart immigrants, I guess, because most people don’t have any idea what the hell a phone app is,” Trump said at the Prairie Du Chien Area Arts Center.
A video of Trump making these comments was posted on X and Andy Roddick took a sly dig at the former President.
"I feel like most people know what a phone app is," Roddick wrote.
Martina Navratilova also reacted to the clip and wrote:
"Actually, very few people DONT KNOW what a phone app is… He is as thick as two short planks."
The 2024 US presidential election is set for November 5, with Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris among the leading candidates.
