"Apology should be as loud as disrespect was" - Nick Kyrgios extends support to Boston Celtics' Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown amid NBA Finals heroics
Nick Kyrgios is relishing being a Boston Celtics fan as the team goes 3-0 up in the NBA Finals. They are now just one win away from earning their first championship since 2008. The Australian tennis player extended his support to the in-form Celtics duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
The Celtics are up against the Dallas Mavericks who include Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. Boston won the first two matches 107-89 and 105-98.
The Celtics dominated in the third game as well and looked like they were on the verge of a comfortable win. By the third quarter, the Celtics were up 85-70. However, the Mavericks made a comeback and earned 29 points in the final quarter compared to Boston's 21. The match ended in Boston's favor but with a close 106-99.
Aussie tennis star Kyrgios posted about the game on his Instagram as well as X. He posted several Instagram Stories, two of which were about the doubts faced by Tatum and Brown. The pair have been together in Boston for almost seven years now and reached multiple Conference finals before this year's NBA Finals. Therefore, they have never been this close to a championship.
"Your apology should be as loud as your disrespect was," Kyrgios captioned one Story.
"Stop playing with us... Can't handle the West... Blah blah blah... Take that 60 pieces @jayatum0 (Jayson Tatum) and @fchwpo (Jaylen Brown) gave ya," he captioned the other.
Kyrgios even extended support to Derrick White who earned 16 points in Game 3.

Tatum registered 31 points, six rebounds and five assists. Meanwhile, Brown registered 30 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Their combined total of over 60 points helped the Celtics earn the 3-0 lead.
Nick Kyrgios felt the stress of a five-set match watching the NBA Finals Game 3
Nick Kyrgios regularly posted updates about his feelings throughout Game 3 between the Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks.
Jayson Tatum & co's comfortable lead was cut down in the fourth quarter by the Luka Doncic-led Mavericks. Kyrgios was stressed out and compared the feeling to a five-set tennis match.
"My heart has been through the stress of a 5 set match through this game 3," Kyrgios wrote on X.
The NBA Finals Game 4 is scheduled for Friday, June 14. A win for the Celtics will earn them the Championship, while a win for the Mavericks will lead to a Game 5 on Monday, June 17.
