ATP Finals 2024 Points Table: Updated Standings after Rohan Bopanna/Matthew Ebden vs Simone Boleli/Andrea Vavassori clash
Simone Boleli and Andrea Vavassori are currently placed on top of the table in the Bob Bryan Group in the ATP Finals 2024. On Monday (Nov. 11), they defeated the Indo-Australian duo of Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden in straight sets. Bopanna and Ebden began their campaign at the bottom of the table.
The German pair of Kevin Krawietz and Tim Putz is second in the table. On Monday, they got the better of Mate Pavic and Marcelo Arevalo in straight sets. Pavic and Arevalo, on the other hand, are third in the table and will be looking to bounce back in the tournament.
Rohan Bopanna, Matthew Ebden make poor start
Bopanna and Ebden have tasted success throughout the year, including winning the Australian Open men’s doubles title back in January. But the duo did not make the best of starts after Boleli and Vavassori defeated them 6-2, 6-3 in 56 minutes in a rematch of this year’s Australian Open final.
Bopanna and Ebden looked clueless after their Italian opponents earned two breaks of serve to win the opening set without having to break a sweat. With their backs against the wall, Bopanna and Ebden could not make a comeback in the second set.
Bopanna and Ebden, however, will have their chance of making amends when they cross swords with Krawietz and Putz in their second match on Tuesday (Nov. 12).
Krawietz and Putz were impressive in their match against Pavic and Arevalo, winning 6-3, 6-4. The duo was brilliant with their first serves with a win percentage of 89. They made two double faults, but had an excellent win percentage of 80 from their second serves.
But Krawietz and Putz made the difference in the match by converting two of the five break point chances they got. They also fired six aces to get the better of their opponents.
