ATP rankings update: Jannik Sinner extends reign at the top to inch closer to Daniil Medvedev, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz remain in top 5

Jannik Sinner continues to extend his lead at the top of the men's rankings, embarking on his fifteenth week while also inching closer to Daniil Medvedev's record of sixteen weeks. Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz, meanwhile, remain in the top five despite their recent struggles.

With six titles to his name this season, including the majors in Melbourne and New York, Sinner comfortably leads the pack with 11,180 points. Alexander Zverev, who moved into second place last week, retains the position with 7,075 points. Neither player was in action this week.

Alcaraz, who dropped to third last week after his upset at the US Open, holds 6,690 points as the final quarter of the season begins. Djokovic, in fourth place, has 5,560 points. Both Alcaraz and Djokovic have been in action at the Davis Cup for Spain and Canada this week.

Daniil Medvedev, who also lost points last week after failing to defend his US Open runner-up finish from last year, is nonetheless closing in on the top four thanks to the overall struggles of the other top players to defend their points. He sits in fifth place with 5,475 points, just 85 points behind Djokovic.

Andrey Rublev with 4,645 points, Taylor Fritz and Hubert Hurkacz with 4,060 points, Casper Ruud with 4,010 points, and Grigor Dimitrov with 3,965 points complete the top 10.

Alex de Minaur, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Tommy Paul, Holger Rune, Sebastian Korda, Frances Tiafoe, and Ben Shelton are not far behind and will aim to make a strong push to secure a spot in the year-end tournament.
