ATP Rankings update: Jannik Sinner ties weeks at top with Daniil Medvedev; Alexander Zverev, Grigor Dimitrov drop points but retain spots in top 10

Jannik Sinner's dominance at the top of the ATP rankings has seen him equal Daniil Medvedev's tally of 16 weeks. He achieved the feat in consecutive weeks, tracing back to June 10 when it all began.

Out of action since his triumph in New York, Sinner sits comfortably in pole position with 11,180 points, a remarkable 4,305 points ahead of second-placed Alexander Zverev. Set to compete in Beijing this week as the defending champion and top seed, he will be eager to add to his tally of six titles already this season.

Zverev, meanwhile, fresh off his Laver Cup triumph with Team Europe, remains in second place with 6,875 points. He did, however, face a 200-point deduction for failing to defend his title in Chengdu.

Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, and Medvedev also retain their positions at third, fourth, and fifth, with no change to their score. Alcaraz holds 6,690 points, Djokovic 5,560 points, while Medvedev rounds out the top five with 5,475 points.

Zverev, Alcaraz, and last year's runner-up Medvedev will all be in Beijing this week and complete the top 4 seeds.

Andrey Rublev, with 4,645 points, Taylor Fritz and Hubert Hurkacz both with 4,060 points, Casper Ruud with 4,060, and Grigor Dimitrov with 3,920 round out the top 10 spots in the ATP men's rankings. Dimitrov saw a deduction of 45 points after failing to defend his semifinal points in Chengdu due to his participation in the Laver Cup.

Other movers in the top 30 include Frances Tiafoe, who climbed one spot to 15th at the expense of compatriot Sebastian Korda, who could not defend his semifinal points in Zhuhai, now relocated to Hangzhou.

2023 Zhuhai champion Karen Khachanov also dropped four spots to 27th and lost 250 points after falling in the second round of the 2024 Hangzhou Open. Alexei Popyrin, Arthur Fils, Sebastian Baez, and Alexander Bublik benefited from his fall, moving up one spot each.

Shang Juncheng's remarkable week at home in Chengdu has seen him reach the semifinals. He has already defeated Kei Nishikori, eighth seed Roman Safiullin, and second seed Alexander Bublik. He is set to face Yannick Hanfmann for a spot in the final. His impressive form has earned him 100 points and propelled him up a staggering 12 spots to 55th in the ATP rankings. He stands in line to gain even more rewards if he advances further or wins the tournament.

Brandon Nakashima's ascent on the ATP Tour continues with a second semifinal run of the season in Hangzhou. He will face Marin Cilic for a chance to reach his first final of the season, while simultaneously climbing the ATP charts by collecting 65 points and rising three spots to 36th.

Zhang Zhizhen also climbed five spots to 43rd, while his compatriot Bu Yunchaokete made an impressive leap of 28 spots into the top 100, now sitting at 96th after his semifinal run in Hangzhou. Both players will compete against each other for a place in the final.

Kazakh veteran Mikhail Kukushkin's quarterfinal run in Hangzhou allowed him to climb 12 spots, securing the 100th position in the rankings. For more details about the rankings in full, click here.
