ATP rankings after Wimbledon: Gains for Taylor Fritz, Jack Draper & Alex De Minaur, Novak Djokovic closes in on Jannik Sinner

Novak Djokovic may have fallen short in his pursuit of an eighth Wimbledon title, but he and the likes of Taylor Fritz and Jack Draper, are set to gain in the ATP rankings. The ladder is set to be updated on Monday (July 15).

The Serb, who reached his second consecutive final at the All England Club, gained 100 points in the rankings to inch closer to World No. 1 Jannik Sinner, who dropped 320 points this week.

Djokovic’s 8,460 points are now only 1,110 points short of the Italian’s 9,570. Sinner lost in the quarterfinals to Daniil Medevdev, who sits at No. 5 with 6,525 points behind Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev at No. 2 and No. 3 with 8,130 and 7,015 points respectively.

Wimbledon quarterfinalist, Alex De Minaur, reached a new career-high of No. 6 after jumping three spots. The Australian, who was forced to withdraw from the tournament, gained 355 points to arrive at a final tally of 4,185.

Hubert Hurkacz (4,105 points), Andrey Rublev (4,070 points), Casper Ruud (4,030 points) and Grigor Dimitrov (3,770 points) round out the top 10. Taylor Fritz’s quarterfinal run also saw him inch closer to the Top 10,as he rose a spot in the ATP rankings. The American is just 65 points behind Dimitrov.

Lorenzo Musseti, who made his maiden Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon, jumped nine spots to arrive at a near career-high of No. 16 with 2,330 points, while British No. 1 rose two spots Jack Draper to improve on his best ranking. He is now placed at No. 26 with 1,511 points.

Arthur Fils and Brandon Nakashima were among the other big movers in the ATP rankings, joining Novak Djokovic and Taylor Fritz. The duo gaining six and 12 spots to be placed at No. 28 and No. 53 with 1,450 and 915 points respectively.

Fils’ countryman, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, who came through the qualification rounds to make the Wimbledon fourth round, also jumped 14 spots to reach a new career-high of No, 44 with 1,032 points.

Other big movers in the ATP rankings included Holger Rune (-2 to No. 17), Roberto Carballes Baena (+10 to No. 54), Alex Michelsen (-7 to No. 62), Arthur Rinderknech (+10 to No. 66), Sumit Nagal (+5 to No. 68), Emil Ruusuvuori (+17 to No. 70), Roberto Bautista Agut (+37 to No. 75), Fabio Fognini (+14 to No. 80) and Mattero Berrettini (-24 to No. 82).
