Belinda Bencic hopes Roger Federer stars in a movie after Swiss tourism commercial

Belinda Bencic is mighty impressed with Roger Federer's acting prowess in a recent commercial and is now fancying him in a full-fledged movie.

Federer recently teamed up with South African comedian Trevor Noah to feature in a three-minute 47-second ad film titled 'The Grand Train Tour of Switzerland: The Ride of a Lifetime' to promote Swiss tourism.

Bencic shares a great bond with compatriot Federer. They partnered with each other to win back-to-back titles for Switzerland at the Hopman Cup in 2018 and 2019. When Bencic won the gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, she dedicated it to her heroes — Federer and Martina Hingis.

Speaking to Tennis Channel after reaching the semifinals of the Credit One Charleston Open, the World No. 11 praised Federer for his acting skills and remarked that she smiled throughout the relatable commercial.

"Oh my god, I feel like he's an amazing actor. I think soon we're going to see him in a movie or something," Bencic said. "I felt that was so much fun and when you're a Swiss person, you exactly understand the humor behind it, you know how the train is on time, how you can never ride without a ticket. It's like the worst crime in Switzerland. No one ever does it. And it was really so much fun. I watched the whole video with a big smile on my face."

When asked about her favorite places in Switzerland, Bencic stated that she loved and would always bask in the natural beauty whenever feeling down.

"I definitely love the mountains, it's a really great place for me to get energy from," she added. "So I love to be in Switzerland. There's so many lakes and forests and mountains. The nature is just beautiful there. Whenever I'm feeling a bit down, it's my place to go."
