Following the match, Medvedev commented on the relief he felt at eventually winning 7-5, 7-6(4) given how he squandered away seven match point opportunities.

“It was crazy at the end. I got super tight. I would say that [after] 6-5, 40/0, I think I got tight at deuce when I was like, ‘Oh my god, that’s a lot of opportunities missed, this could go not well for me’. So I got really tight, [but] I still managed to continue playing good… The ace [on match point] was a relief, I’m just really happy that I managed not to lose this match,” Medvedev said.

Daniil Medvedev continued his exceptional run of form at the Indian Wells Masters. Following back-to-back titles at the ABN AMRO Open, Qatar Open and the Dubai Tennis Championships, the former World No. 1 is through to his fourth consecutive final on the ATP tour. The 27-year-old's record of four finals in five weeks is a feat not accomplished by a male player since Andy Murray in 2016.

In the post-match press conference, Medvedev reflected on the significance of his achievements and expressed his anticipation of fondly reminiscing about them in his later years.

"Yeah, it's just great sometimes when you beat some records or become World No. 1 or win a slam that you know that when you're 70 you can still say, Yeah, I remember the year when I made four finals in a row. That's great," he said.

Daniil Medvedev will take on Carlos Alcaraz in the 2023 Indian Wells final. The Spaniard defeated Jannik Sinner in straight sets to book his spot in his second consecutive Indian Wells final.
