"Can get into corners, kills cockroaches"- Taylor Fritz's girlfriend Morgan Riddles reveals his dad's hilarious remark about her Paris Olympics heels
Taylor Fritz's girlfriend, Morgan Riddle, recently revealed her hilarious conversation with his father, Guy, about the heels she wore at his Paris Olympics match. She explained why he named them "cucarachas shoes."
Fritz is competing at his first Olympic Games in Paris, participating in singles, men's doubles (with Tommy Paul), and mixed doubles (with Coco Gauff). The top-ranked American is out of singles medal contention following a third-round loss to Italy's Lorenzo Musetti. In men's doubles, meanwhile, he and Paul have advanced to the quarterfinals, where they face Brits Andy Murray and Dan Evans. In mixed doubles, his and Gauff's second-round match is currently underway.
At the event, Taylor Fritz is accompanied by his father, Guy, and his girlfriend, influencer and model Morgan Riddle. Riddle has been a constant presence, cheering him on from the stands.
On Wednesday, July 31, Frtiz was scheduled to contest matches in all three categories. Riddle attended his matches wearing a USA-themed tank top and a matching white skirt. She paired the fit with dazzling silver pointy-toe heels.
Taylor Fritz's father, though, had an amusing reaction to her choice of footwear, which he believed would come in handy to "kill cockroaches."
"Taylor's dad just told me these shoes are my 'cucaraches shoes' because the pointy toes can get into corners to kill cockroaches. Ok!" she joked on her Instagram story.
Taylor Fritz's girlfriend Morgan Riddle on her Paris Olympics 2024 experience: "I can confirm this is the coolest thing ever"
Following her European adventure with friends, Morgan Riddle reunited with Taylor Fritz just before he kicked off his Paris Olympics campaign.
The influencer, who has been the host of Wimbledon’s official fashion and lifestyle series “Wimbledon Threads” since 2023, recently revealed she joined the tennis player in Paris for a similar gig at the Olympics.
"I was only planning on staying for 2 days to be honest - I only came for work purposes, I never watched Olympics growing up so I think I was a bit jaded to be going,” Riddle wrote on her Instagram story.
However, the American has since had a change of heart. She called the Paris Olympics “the coolest” experience, adding that she ultimately decided to extend her trip to attend other sporting events while also supporting her boyfriend.
“... which I'm embarrassed about now! But now that I'm here, I can confirm this is the coolest thing ever & I have extended my trip so I can stay and support T (Fritz), try to go to other sporting events & bring y'all along!!!"
Shedding light on her experience at Roland-Garros, the venue of the French Open, which is also serving as the tennis Olympics’s venue, she said:
"Tennis specifically, the Roland Garros site feels veryyy different. The plethora of bars, restaurants and food stands are closed - just a few food stalls and coffee, definitely not as glam as RG".
