“Can’t believe I stuck around after that”- Andy Murray’s wife Kim Sears recalls Brit hilariously vomiting the first time she saw him play live

Andy Murray's wife Kim Sears recently recalled a hilarious incident from when she saw the Brit play live for the first time. She also joked about how she couldn't believe she stuck with him even after witnessing what he did.

After his retirement, Murray was sent many tributes by the tennis fraternity celebrating his career. "Lawn Tennis Association" did the same by calling the Brit's mother Judy, his wife Kim, and his brother Jamie to say a few words about the three-time Grand Slam champion.

Sears recalled a hilarious incident from the first time she saw her husband play live at the 2005 US Open against Andre Pavel, a match that the 2012 US Open champion eventually won. She remembered how the Brit vomited on the court right in front of her but was glad he did it on the opposite end.

"I first saw him play live at the US Open, that same summer (2005), and his first match was against Andre Pavel, it was a five-set epic and he projectile vomited on the court right in front of me which was an interesting start, but it was thankfully down the other end of the court, not directly in front of me," she said. Murray's wife then joked about how she couldn't believe she stuck around after that.

"Can't believe I stuck around after that, but it was you know," she hilariously remarked.

After an illustrious career, Andy Murray finally hung up the racket after his doubles campaign came to an end at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The 37-year-old paired up with Dan Evans for his final campaign as a professional and the pair had a great run, outlasting the Japanese duo of Taro Daniel and Kei Nishikori and then the Belgian pair of Sander Gille and Joran Vleigen.

However, the Brit duo was defeated by Team USA's Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul. This loss marked the end of the former World No. 1's career.

Andy Murray also recalled the aforementioned incident during his farewell speech at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. The Brit, however, said that he vomited twice, including once right in front of Kim Sears. He then joked how Sears still liked him, which made the 37-year-old realize that she was a keeper.

"The first match she came to watch me live was at the US Open. I vomited twice in that match. Once right in front of where she was sitting. I then stood up and vomited on my opponent’s racquet bag and she still seemed to like me so I knew she was a keeper after that," he said [14:29].

Andy Murray and Kim Sears got married on 11 April 2015 and have been together since. They have four children: one son and three daughters.
