Carlos Alcaraz donning Travis Scott's limited edition 'Air Jordan' Nike sneakers collaboration catches American rapper's attention
Carlos Alcaraz caught the attention of Travis Scott as he wore Nike sneakers that were designed in collaboration with the American rapper. The Spaniard is currently competing at the 2024 Cincinnati Open in Ohio, United States.
Alcaraz uploaded a post on Instagram with several images of how he was spending his days leading up to the Masters 1000 event in Ohio. He captioned the post:
"Remix of the last few days before I start tomorrow! 🤪💪🏻🔝 @cincytennis"
In the first image, he tagged Travis Scott as he was wearing the 'Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low “White Party”' Nike sneakers. Reportedly, it is a limited edition item with only 350 pairs produced. Scott was excited to see Alcaraz don the shoes and commented on the post:
"Twinskiiii"
Notably, this is not the first time Scott and Alcaraz have interacted on social media. When the Spaniard won his second Wimbledon title a month ago after defeating Novak Djokovic in the final, the American rapper gave a shoutout to the tennis star on his Instagram Story and wrote:
"Congrats to my brother Carlos. The future is now."
Carlos Alcaraz reveals his 'main goal' to achieve before the 2024 season comes to a close
Carlos Alcaraz is in the midst of the best season of his career as far as major titles are concerned. He has won the French Open and the Wimbledon Championships this year with impressive performances. Moreover, he recently won the silver medal for Spain in men's singles at the Paris Olympics.
The 21-year-old will now focus his attention on the North American hard court swing. He is participating in the 2024 Cincinnati Open as his first event after the Olympics.
At a press conference ahead of the Masters 1000 event, Alcaraz said that he is happy to be back in Cincinnati, where he finished runner-up last year, and stated that the tournament is important for him. He also opened up about the main goal he wants to achieve before the end of the season.
“I’m really excited to be playing here again... I’m happy to be back. I have great memories from last year, reaching the final, losing a really tight match. This is a really important tournament for me. Right now, ending the year at No. 1 is one of my main goals,” Carlos Alcaraz said.
In Cincinnati, Alcaraz will hope to complete the full set of American Masters 1000 titles, as he has already won the Indian Wells and Miami titles.
