Carlos Alcaraz hilariously picks Frances Tiafoe to be his wingman on a night out, maintains American will not be of much use in an emergency
Carlos Alcaraz picked Frances Tiafoe as the nicest and funniest guy on tour while also being the best wingman. The Spaniard has a good relationship with the American as he hilariously maintained that the latter would not be of any use in an emergency.
As part of the ATP's 'Down the T' with Sharky, Alcaraz was interviewed by the Youtuber and he had to answer honestly. The Spaniard was asked multiple questions about players on tour and most of his answers were Tiafoe.
The 21-year-old named Tiafoe as the 'Nicest guy on tour', the 'Funniest in the locker room', and also the 'Best wingman on a night out'. However, when Alcaraz was asked who he would call if he was stuck in an emergency, he laughed and said:
"Not Frances Tiafoe."
Next, Alcaraz was asked who was so loud that he could hear them before he could see them. The Spaniard smiled and Sharky knew who the 21-year-old was thinking of. They did a short countdown and named Tiafoe together.
The four-time Grand Slam winner also mentioned that Holger Rune is the biggest trash-talker on tour.

Carlos Alcaraz and Frances Tiafoe have gone toe-to-toe on the court multiple times but there is mutual respect between the pair. The Spaniard had kind words for the American before they faced off in the third round at Wimbledon a fortnight ago. During a press conference, Alcaraz said:
"Frances is a great player. Great person as well. He always smiles. He always seems like he’s enjoying his time on and off the court. It’s pretty impressive. Trying to put a show every time he steps on court."
However, the Spaniard had maintained at the time that once they stepped on the court, there were no friends.
“I have a really good relationship with a lot of players. But once you step on the court, there are no friends. You have to be on your own. Focus on yourself. And you try to beat them. That’s how tennis works," Carlos Alcaraz said.
At the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, Alcaraz and Tiafoe's third-round clash was their third encounter on tour. The pair's head-to-head record was tied at 1-1 but Alcaraz's win at SW19 helped him take the lead.
Their back-and-forth battle went the distance as it took the Spaniard five sets to win the match 5-7, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6(2), 6-2. From thereon, Alcaraz went all the way and won his second Wimbledon title.
