"Chat GPT word for word";"Didn’t even change the format" - Fans poke fun at Stefanos Tsitsipas' 'embarrassing' proposal to 'change' future of tennis

Stefanos Tsitsipas recently shared an extensive statement addressing the demanding tour schedule and its impact on the longevity of players. Tennis fans believe that the Greek relied on an AI program to craft the post and even found evidence suggesting that it was generated by Chat GPT.

Tsitsipas has joined the likes of Carlos Alcaraz, Iga Swiatek and Daniil Medvedev in raising concerns about how the "ATP and WTA calendars don’t give players a break." The Greek proposed a unique "rotating" schedule, with the introduction of AI tools to help players monitor their recovery metrics.

"A rotating system for the smaller tournaments could be a solution. Instead of having us chase events around the world every week, tournaments could switch locations; one year in South America, the next in Asia," Stefanos Tsitsipas posted on X.
"Even AI can play a role; analysing training, match data, and recovery times to help us train smarter, not harder," he added.

Tsitsipas emphasized the need to adapt, arguing that the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams could've played longer if they weren't impacted by injuries due to the rigors of the tour. He also asserted that a "tennis revolution" led by the players was underway to "change tennis for the better."

"If we don’t adapt, we risk losing our stars to early retirements and constant injuries. Just think how different tennis might look if players like Rafa, Roger, or Serena had been able to play at their best for a few more years. This isn’t just about preserving careers; it’s about preserving the essence of the sport itself," he wrote.
"We're on the edge of a tennis revolution, one driven by the players. It’s no longer about just surviving the tour; it’s about thriving in it. Change isn’t easy, but if we do this right, tennis could enter a new era of greatness," he added. "The revolution is here, and it’s going to change tennis for the better."

However, fans were doubtful about the authenticity of Stefanos Tsitsipas' post. One fan tested the post using Chat GPT and received the same statement "word for word," while another pointed out that it had an 89% likelihood of being AI-generated.

"Chat GPT word for word. You can't make this up," one fan posted.
"I'm crying at the way he didn’t even try to change the chatgpt format," a fan quipped.
"Sucks on the court and uses ChatGPT word for word on this post. Unreal next gen player," another fan chimed in.

Fans continued to poke fun at the Greek for his "embarrassing" use of an AI tool to compose the post, teasing him for the lengthy statement.

"Idk it's just kinda embarrassing to just use chatgpt when he's capable of writing it himself," one fan commented.
"I ain't reading all that congrats! or sorry it happened," another fan wrote.
"We know you used ChatGPT for this one mate," said another.
"The bold and italic font gave it away," a fan responded.

Following his triumphant stint with Team Europe at the 2024 Laver Cup, Stefanos Tsitsipas entered the Japan Open as the fourth seed and squared off against Alex Michelsen in the first round. Although the Greek made a strong start to the contest, Michelsen mounted an impressive comeback to claim a 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory and oust the fourth seed from the ATP 500 event.

The World No. 12 will aim to deliver a better performance when he returns to the court for the Shanghai Masters, starting October 2. Tsitsipas crashed out of the Masters 1000 event in the third round last year, suffering a 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 loss to Ugo Humbert.

Following his campaign in Shanghai, Stefanos Tsitsipas will be in action at the European Open in Antwerp, scheduled to be held from October 14-20.
