Both the women’s and the men’s World No. 1s Iga Swiatek and Jannik Sinner will be in action on Day 7 of the 2024 Cincinnati Open, which is heading towards its business end. The duo will be looking to book a spot in the summit clash.
Swiatek, who will be the first player out on Centre Court, will take on a familiar foe in the form of Aryna Sabalenka. While the Pole had to fight her way into the semi-finals after a three-set battle against Mirra Andreeva, her opponent had an easier outing against Liudmila Samsonova.
Sinner, meanwhile, will lock horns with either Alexander Zverev or Ben Shelton in the last-four. The Italian avenged his quarter-final loss from the Canadian Masters after beating Andrey Rublev in his last match mere days after the Toronto defeat.
Jessica Pegula is the other player through to the semi-finals and will take on either Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova or Paula Badosa. Line-up for the remaining men’s singles semi-final is yet to be decided with all four men still in contention.
