Coco Gauff is making the most of her training ahead of the 2025 season. She once again took part in a fencing session, looking sharp and on the front foot while playfully challenging her critics to a duel.
Gauff is staying focused as she prepares for the upcoming season. She has been frequently sharing glimpses of her intense training regimen, including exercises like bench presses, sprinting, reverse crunches, and even switching to beach volleyball. The 20-year-old then posted a clip on her Instagram, showcasing her fencing practice.
A few days later, Gauff shared a few more clips of her fencing session on Instagram. In one of her clip, she wrote:
"lol some more fencing"
The World No. 3, known for her occasional online back-and-forth with fans—most notably after her China Open win—once again addressed her critics, this time playfully, in a clip shared on her Instagram.
"I ain't arguing with ya'll any more. let's duel," she wrote.
In another clip, Gauff cleverly allowed her fencing partner to get close before landing a touch to score a point. However, she ultimately lost the match. Despite the result, she thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
"lol this my second time fencing and it's so fun. I lost tho," she wrote.

Serena Williams' ex-coach gave crucial advice to Coco Gauff ahead of the 2025 season
Coco Gauff has had an impressive 2024 season, reaching the semifinals at the Grand Slams like the Australian Open and the French Open and securing similar results in other tournaments like the BNP Paribas Open, Internazionali BNL d'Italia, and Ecotrans Ladies Open.
She claimed her first title of the season at the ASB Classic in Auckland and won her second title via a dominant 6-1, 6-3 victory over Karolina Muchová at the China Open in Beijing. The 20-year-old also triumphed at the WTA Finals in Riyadh, defeating Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals and Zheng Qinwen in the final. She also maintained a decent win-loss record of 54-17 this season.
However, Gauff was unable to secure a Grand Slam title, and Serena Williams' former coach, Rick Macci, believes she will need to make a few adjustments during the off-season to succeed at the Major events.
"MINOR adjustments in the off season can shine bright in MAJOR events. @CocoGauff," Macci tweeted.
Gauff's last Grand Slam victory came at the US Open last year, where she triumphed over Mirra Andreeva, Caroline Wozniacki, Jelena Ostapenko, Karolina Muchová, and eventually Aryna Sabalenka in the final.
