Coco Gauff extends hearty 'congratulations' to Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey on birth of their first child
Coco Gauff has shared her heartwarming wishes with Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber after they welcomed their first child. The Canadian singer announced the arrival of his first child on August 24, 2024.
Bieber shared the news of his child on Instagram, where he uploaded an adorable picture of his baby's feet and revealed his name in the caption, which is 'Jack Blues Bieber."
The caption of the post read:
"WELCOME HOME. JACK BLUES BIEBER."
Gauff commented under this post, congratulating the couple.
"Congratulations," the World No. 3's comment read.
Gauff recently competed in the Cincinnati Open 2024 as the defending champion but she suffered a second-round defeat to Yulia Putinteseva, with the latter winning 6-4, 2-6, 6-4. The 20-year-old revealed in a recent interview that she treated this loss as a "blessing in disguise".
"I feel like it was a blessing in disguise I lost so early, because I was able to actually train, which I hadn't been able to," said Gauff. "I do my best results when I come off a training block. I was able to train for a good week and a half and obviously still have a couple more days to do that."
Coco Gauff has won 36 out of 49 matches so far in the 2024 season. However, her performances have been far from impressive since the start of the grass-court season, as she has failed to win more than three matches at any single tournament.
Coco Gauff jokingly opened up about how Justin Bieber helped her stage a comeback at US Open 2023
During the 2023 US Open, Coco Gauff admitted to being 'star-struck' after witnessing pop star Justin Bieber in her game. Gauff was in a match against Elise Mertens and defeated her 3-6, 6-3, 6-0.
In her post-match interview, Gauff jokingly said that the singer's presence helped her make a comeback after losing the opening set of the match.
"I was like 'I can't lose in front of Justin Beiber!' I didn't lose a game after I saw him, Gauff said. "I was definitely star-struck with Justin Beiber, I mean, 'Never Say Never', was one of my favorite songs when I was a kid, and then 'Baby Oh Baby'. I can go over all his songs and Hailey too coming, I guess it was a little date night for them, which is really cool."
Coco Gauff, who then won the 2023 US Open, is now poised to defend her title in the 2024 iteration of the event. Her first game of the competition is slated to be held on August 26, and she will be squaring off against Varvara Gracheva at the Arthur Ashe Stadium. If Gauff wins, she will face either Tatjana Maria or Solana Sierra in the second round.
