Coco Gauff's mother Candi gushes over son Codey as he makes latest appearance for San Diego Padres scout team

Coco Gauff's mother, Candi, gushed over her son Codey after the 16-year-old recently appeared in a baseball match, representing the San Diego Padres' scout team. Codey is one of Coco's siblings, along with their younger brother, Cameron, who turned 11 this year. The World No. 2 often shares images with her brothers on social media.

Codey is currently studying at a school in Florida, and unlike his sister Coco, has a penchant for baseball. He has showcased his skills as a catcher and was recently spotted in a baseball match representing the San Diego Padres Scout team. The 16-year-old shared the images from his baseball match on Instagram.

Coco Gauff's mother, Candi, later reshared one of the pictures from Codey's post on her Instagram story. She tagged Codey in the story and added four heart emojis to it.

Candi Gauff often celebrates her children's achievements on social media. One such occasion was when Coco reached her career-high WTA ranking of No. 2 after her semifinal run at the 2024 French Open.

Another was when Candi congratulated Codey earlier this year on making the list of top 100 prospects in baseball as per Baseball Generations.

In a press conference before her semifinal match at the 2024 French Open, Coco Gauff revealed how her brothers had ignored her phone calls during her campaign.

The 20-year-old said that Codey didn't answer her phone call and that they hadn't spoken in weeks. Instead, Codey texts short messages to congratulate her after her matches.

"Codey who's 16 years old, and he doesn't answer the phone ever. I haven't spoken to him on the phone probably in like two or three weeks because he just he's doing his thing or he'll text me after a match and he'll literally say 'Good win jit'. Jit is like a slang in Florida, I don't even know what it means, how to explain it. That's literally the last like four or five texts from him," she said [at 11:34].

The World No. 2 later added that her youngest brother, Cameron, prefers playing Fortnite over talking to her.

"And then Cameron is the youngest and he'll call. I think I tried to call him yesterday but he was on playing fortnite and so we talked and then he kind of just wasn't talking for like five or ten minutes," she said
"He was like, 'I think I'll call you tomorrow', because he was busy playing fortnite with his friend and he has not called me today yet and tommorow is his birthday so I'm going to wish him happy birthday and I have some gifts coming for him tomorrow. That's kind of our dynamic and Cody typical teenager and Cameron just being a kid that loves fortnite," she added.

During the Australian Open earlier this year, Coco Gauff said that Codey had avoided her calls at that time but recalled how the 16-year-old expressed his love for his family during a trip to the Sky Tower.
