World No. 2 Coco Gauff will take on her fellow American Emma Navarro in the fourth round of the 2024 Wimbledon on Sunday, July 7. The second seed has been in fine form throughout the tournament and is yet to drop a set.
Gauff beat Caroline Dolehide 6-1, 6-2 in her opener, and secured another comfortable 6-2, 6-1 win over qualifier Anca Todoni in the next round. She took on home hope Sonay Kartal in the third round and defeated her 6-4, 6-0.
The 20-year-old has matched her best showing at Wimbledon by reaching the fourth round once again. She previously made it this far in 2019 upon her debut, and in 2021 as well. Navarro barely broke a sweat during her 6-2, 6-0 win over Wang Qiang in the first round. She outplayed Naomi Osaka in the second round to beat her 6-4, 6-1, and staged a comeback to edge past Diana Shnaider 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the third round.
Navarro has reached the fourth round of Wimbledon for the first time in her career. She previously advanced to this stage of a Major for the first time at last month's French Open.
