Coco Gauff vs Jessica Pegula: Where to watch, TV schedule, live streaming details and more | WTA FinalsĀ
Third seed Coco Gauff will take on Jessica Pegula in a group stage match of the WTA Finals on Sunday (Novemeber 3). Pegula leads the head-to-head against the American 4-1 and defeated her most recently at the 2024 German Open.
Gauff will enter Riyadh on the back of nine wins from 10 matches on tour, including a remarkable title-triumph at the China Open. She also reached the semfinals of the Wuhan Open, where she lost to Aryna Sabalenka in a close three-set bout.
Coco Gauff was the defending champion in the US Open this year but chalked up a disappointing fourth round exit at the hands of Emma Navarro. She's still had a solid season so far by amassing a title-winning run at the ASB Classic and semifinals runs in Melbourne and Paris.
Pegula, meanwhile, recored her best result at a Major in August by reaching the finals of the 2024 US Open. Despite a spirited effort against Aryna Sabalenka, the Belarusian outclassed her in straight sets, 7-5, 7-5.
The 30-year-old will enter Riyadh on the back of a third round exit in Wuhan. She started her campaign by cruising past Anastasia Potapova, but came up shy against Wang Xinyu in the last 16. The Chinese talent outfoxed her in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5.
Gauff and Pegula have been doubles partners in the past and will know what to expect from each other. Pegula will have the psychological advantage due to her dominant head-to-head score, but Gauff seems determined to end the season on a high note. The Riyadh crowd can expect a gripping encounter two high-quality players on Sunday.
