"Daniil Medvedev manifested this I fear" - Tennis fans react to Indian Wells 2023 draw ft. potential Stefanos Tsitsipas & Andrey Rublev collision
The 2023 Indian Wells men's singles main draw has been announced and there are quite some exciting possible match-ups in store for the fans.
The Indian Wells Masters will feature a 96-player draw for the men's singles. The draw was sorted out on Monday, March 6 at 3 PM (EST). The tournament runs from March 6 until March 19 with the main draw fixtures set to commence on March 8.
While there is an absence of star attractions including Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, fans are clearly excited about other top stars on tour battling it out at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
With Stefanos Tsitsipas' degrading remarks on Andrey Rublev at the 2022 ATP Finals resurfacing again, tennis fans are hopeful of witnessing an encounter between the two in the tournament. Based on the seeding, it has been reported that Rublev could face off against Tsitsipas in the quarterfinals.
In light of this possible match-up, several fans have marked their excitement on social media. One fan maintained that Daniil Medvedev manifested the duo's meeting as they reflected on the Russian's statements supporting Rublev at the Dubai Tennis Championships.
"Danya manifested this I fear." wrote the user in their tweet.
Another fan wrote that they would like to witness Rublev "beat the brakes" off the World No. 3 as they marked their annoyance with the latter for what he said about the Russian last year.
"Personally would love to see Rublev beat the brakes off Tsitsipas," their tweet read.
Meanwhile, another fan observed that Medvedev has an easy draw. However, they suggested that the Russian will not endure a deep run considering his poor record in the tournament.
"Meddy's [Medvedev] draw is looking good, considering his IW record im not expecting much from him at least want him to defeat zverev will be nice. Rubledev to meet in QF pls," they wrote.

"Nice to be back" - Daniil Medvedev on his return to Indian Wells
Daniil Medvedev recently shared his delight upon returning to Indian Wells. He played in the tournament last time around as well, and endured a disappointing second-round loss against Gael Monfils.
"Hello Indian Wells. Nice to be back," wrote Medvedev in his tweet.
While his record in the tournament so far has been discouraging, the Russian will be hoping to make a deep run this time around considering the sheer form he has been in recently.
