Elena Rybakina's outfit for US Open 2024 revealed
Japanese sports and apparel brand Yonex has unveiled Elena Rybakina's outfit for the 2024 US Open. The 25-year-old recently arrived in New York following a disappointing campaign at the 2024 Cincinnati Open.
Rybakina had earlier withdrawn from the Canadian Open owing to health issues but returned for the WTA 1000 event in Cincinnati. The fourth-seeded player, however, was eliminated by World No. 24, Leylah Fernandez in her opening round.
Rybakina won the first set convincingly, 6-3, and came close to sealing the match with a 6-5 lead in the second. However, Fernandez showed great resilience, taking the second set in a tiebreak, 7-6(7). The Canadian dominated the final set with that momentum, winning 6-4 and ending Rybakina's campaign at the Cincinnati Open.
Elena Rybakina will next compete in the last Major of the season, the US Open. Ahead of her campaign at Flushing Meadows, her apparel partner, Yonex, has unveiled her latest kit. The 2022 Wimbledon champion poses in a vibrant red outfit accented with shades of purple, with the brand's logo on the left. She also sports a red wristband and is holding a brand-new white Yonex racket.

The Kazakh partnered with the Japanese apparel brand just before her French Open campaign last year. She uses the Yonex Vcore 100 racket, along with fellow tennis players Dona Vekic and Carolina Garcia.
Elena Rybakina focuses on her second Major title at the US Open after a challenging season so far
Elena Rybakina has faced a challenging year due to recurring illnesses. The World No. 4 was forced to withdraw from the Dubai Tennis Championships, the Italian Open, and the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells due to gastrointestinal issues.
Rybakina continued to struggle with health issues as she experienced abdominal pain during her quarterfinal match at the ecotrans Ladies Open in Berlin, forcing her to retire. She also missed the Rothesay International on her way to Wimbledon 2024 where she reached the semifinals, marking her best Grand Slam performance of the year. She had exited in the second round at the Australian Open and was eliminated in the quarterfinals at the French Open.
However, the Kazakh has enjoyed an impressive hard-court season, securing four titles: the Brisbane International, the Miami Open, the Dubai Open, and the Qatar Open. Thus, she could be one of the favorites to win the US Open this year, which would be her second Major title.
