Elena Rybakina sends love to elder sister Anna on her 28th birthday
Elena Rybakina sent her love to her elder sister Anna on her 28th birthday. Anna is three years older than Elena and the Kazakhstani tennis star has previously shared how supportive Anna has been in her career.
On September 11, Anna turned 28 and posted a few pictures of her celebrations on Instagram. They included a mirror selfie and a couple of pictures with a drink in her hand.
She captioned her post:
"#hb"
Elena commented on the post with "heart" emojis.
Currently, Elena Rybakina is going through a difficult time in her career as she has withdrawn from multiple events in the current season.
Although she has won three titles, she has lost the chance to participate in major events such as the Paris Olympics and the US Open due to illness and injury. Most recently, Rybakina withdrew from the Korea Open in Seoul.
Rybakina also split with her long-time coach Stefano Vukov before the New York Major. There were calls from fans before for the Kazakh to split with her coach but she had defended him. However, before the US Open, she announced that she was parting ways with Vukov.
"She's very positive" - When Elena Rybakina shared how sister Anna helps her through bad days
2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina spoke about the relationship she shares with her sister Anna. The Kazakh tennis star stated that Anna helps her take her mind off the same routine that she follows as a player.
Speaking during a press conference before the start of the 2023 French Open, Elena said:
"Yeah, I think she's actually helping a lot, because it's still a job. You practice all days, kind of the same routine. With her, if I go back to the room or we go to dinner, we can talk about something else, not only tennis."
Further, Elena stated that Anna is a positive influence on her and she helps her on bad days.
"She's very positive. Also, a lot of energy from her. So it's just nice that we are able to spend time together. And, yeah, I think she's also helping, especially if you have a bad day or something, she's the one always positive. So it's good," she added.
Although Rybakina has had a tough season this year, she is on course to qualify for the WTA Finals. She is third on the Race to Riyadh with 4981 points only behind the two already-qualified players Iga Swiatek (8285 points) and Aryna Sabalenka (7876 points).
