Emma Navarro discloses the gifts she has in mind for Carlos Alcaraz, Ben Shelton this Christmas
Emma Navarro recently shared about the gifts she has in mind for Carlos Alcaraz and Ben Shelton this Christmas. She also mentioned the hilarious gift she would give to her compatriot, Jessica Pegula
With the holiday season here and Christmas just around the corner, Navarro, Shelton, and Pegula recently took part in a video shoot for Tennis Channel where they named the gifts they would give to some of their fellow tennis players.
When asked what gift she would give to Carlos Alcaraz, Emma Navarro mentioned that she would gift him a rice dish called "paella" which is one of the best-known dishes in Spanish cuisine. She explained that she chose this gift because it is the only things she knows about Spain.
“A giant dish of paella ‘cause that’s what I know about Spain," Navarro said.
The World No.8 jokingly stated that she would give Ben Shelton a lesson in gift wrapping, as she believes he could use some improvement in that aspect. She also playfully revealed that she would gift Jessica Pegula with Pegula's own eye drops, which she had been holding onto.
“A lesson in gift wrapping ‘cause I heard he kind of stinks at it," she said.
“Her (Pegula) own eye drops ‘cause I’m holding on to hers for her," she added.
Emma Navarro had a good 2024 season. She won one title this year, the 2024 Hobart International by defeating Elise Mertens in the final. She was also the runner-up at the Trophee Clarins, narrowly missing out on the title to Diana Shnaider.
Navarro reached the semifinals in six tournaments - the ASB Classic, San Diego Open, Bad Homburg Open, Canadian Open, Monterrey Open, and the US Open. She also competed in all four Grand Slam tournaments, reaching the third round at the Australian Open, the fourth round at the French Open, the quarterfinals at Wimbledon, and the final four at the New York Major.
