Emma Raducanu gives her 1-word verdict on Anna Kalinskaya's striking Harper's Bazaar cover look
Emma Raducanu has joined the long list of names raving about Anna Kalinskaya's latest photoshoot. The Kazakhstani featured on the latest cover of the Harper's Bazaar magazine, which featured a story on her tennis journey.
Kalinskaya, who had a breakthrough year in 2024, shared the cover on her social media handles to a rousing response. Messages of support and praise flooded the comments section of her Instagram post and Raducanu was among the well-wishers.
The US Open champ, who is no stranger to being the cover model for magazines herself, had a one-word response to Kalinskaya's picture. "Beauty," the Briton wrote in the comments section, drawing a blushing emoji response from her colleague.
The magazine's cover story details Kalinskaya's rise in 2024, as mentioned in the post's caption. She had started the season just inside the top 100 at No. 77 but was able to break into the top 10 on the back of strong results.
"In 2024, Anna Kalinskaya turned setbacks into triumphs, rising from world No. 77 to just outside the top 10, with career-defining victories and a new contract with an athleticwear powerhouse. It was a year of breakthroughs—and a testament to resilience," the post read.
Kalinskaya's biggest final of the 2024 season came at the Dubai Tennis Championships, where she beat the likes of Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff and Jelena Ostapenko before falling to Jasmine Paolini in the summit clash. She also reached the final on the grasscourts of Berlin and made the second rounds at the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
Both Emma Raducanu and Anna Kalinskaya know what it takes to come back from an injury
Both Emma Raducanu and Anna Kalinskaya have dealt with serious injuries in their young careers. The latter acknowledged struggling with her recovery, saying being away from the sport showed her how much it meant to her.
Kalinskaya was forced to withdraw from her Wimbledon fourth-round encounter against Elena Rybakina after suffering a wrist injury. She beat the likes of Liudmila Samsonova, Marie Bouzkova and Panna Udvardy during the career-best run. She told BAZAAR:
“For me, the biggest lesson came during my injury, I realised how much tennis gives me—how many emotions, routines, and connections it brings into my life. It made me love the game even more."
