Estoril Open 2023: Men's draw, schedule, players, prize money breakdown and more

The eighth edition of the Estoril Open will start on April 3. There won't be too many top players competing but the tournament promises to be an interesting one as many participants in the main draw are capable of doing well.

Sebastian Baez won last year's tournament by beating Frances Tiafoe 6-3, 6-2 in the final. The Argentine will be eager to defend his title but he will have a tough task because the likes of Casper Ruud, Hubert Hurkacz, and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina are all capable of contending for the title.

Casper Ruud is the top seed at the Estoril Open and will be a favorite to win despite his poor start to the season. The Norwegian suffered a string of early exits in each tournament he took part in over the past few months, and the clay-court season will be a good time for him to rediscover his form.

Hubert Hurkacz is seeded second in the ATP 250 event and is another player who can contend for the title, considering his quality. Defending champion Sebastian Baez is seeded fifth and will be expected to do well after winning the Cordoba Open and reaching the semifinals of the Rio Open.

The likes of Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Roberto Bautista Agut, Miomir Kecmanovic, Diego Schwartzman, and Ben Shelton are among the seeded players. They are all capable of having a good run in Portugal.

Schedule

The qualifying rounds began on April 1 and will conclude on April 2. Main-draw action will commence on April 3. The quarterfinals are scheduled to take place on April 7 while the semifinals are set for April 8. The final will be held on Sunday, April 9.
