"Exactly where he should be", "SICK human": Martina Navratilova, Rennae Stubbs support Sean 'Diddy' Combs' arrest after sex-trafficking charges
Martina Navratilova and Rennae Stubbs have supported the recent arrest of renowned American rapper Sean Combs (aka Diddy). The 54-year-old was taken into federal custody in New York on Monday allegedly on charges of sex trafficking and other offenses.
Combs was indicted for orchestrating an organization sustained through years of compulsion as well as the sexual and physical abuse of women. According to TMZ, his arrest was initially planned for Tuesday, but Homeland Security agents moved swiftly, apprehending him at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan on Monday.
Combs, reportedly charged with sex trafficking by force and racketeering conspiracy, was taken into custody by the FBI and transported to their field office following his arrest. However, the indictment against the hip-hop star remains sealed, and the official charges have yet to be officially disclosed.
As the news made waves, several prominent figures from the tennis community, including Martina Navratilova and Rennae Stubbs, voiced their support for Combs' arrest. Reacting to a news piece shared by Salon on X, 18-time Major champion Navratilova said:
"Sounds like he is exactly where he should be.."
Meanwhile, Stubbs also expressed her rage over the 54-year-old, calling him a "sick human", and urging his music to be removed from all platforms.
"Hearing and reading the charges on @Diddy …. What a SICK HUMAN!!!! Sick! If there was ever a time to pull all his music from every single platform, it’s today!"
Combs also came under scrutiny in 2016 when a video of him physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend at a Los Angeles hotel went viral.
"No wonder he kept changing his name": Rennae Stubbs further criticizes Sean 'Diddy' Combs
Rennae Stubbs disapproved of Diddy, calling him a "disgusting human" and linking his alleged behavior to frequent name changes.
"@Diddy is finally going down! What a creep!!!! No wonder he kept changing his name. What a disgusting human."
Sean Combs has changed his name multiple times for various reasons. He was known as Puffy in 1995, Puff Daddy in 1996, and P. Diddy in 2001. In 2005, he became Diddy, later adopted Love in 2021, and then again to Diddy one year later.
