Fans tear into Danielle Collins after American's loss to Ons Jabeur amid Iga Swiatek feud: "Karma is back"

Tennis fans tore into Danielle Collins following her defeat to Ons Jabeur at the 2025 Adelaide International amidst her ongoing feud with Iga Swiatek. The feud between Collins and Swiatek began after the American retired during her quarterfinal match at the 2024 Paris Olympics against the former World No.1. The dispute seemingly continued at the recently concluded 2025 United Cup where Collins was seen moving on quickly after shaking hands with Swiatek in the final.

Collins kicked off her 2025 season at the United Cup but did not compete in any matches despite being part of Team USA. She then participated in the Adelaide International where she was seeded. She faced Ons Jabeur, who had received a wild card entry to the main draw, in her opening match but lost to her 6-7(6), 2-6.

Following her first-round loss, tennis fans took to social media to criticize Collins, who has not won a match since retiring from her quarterfinal match against Swiatek at the Paris Olympics.

One fan claimed Danielle Collins' defeat in Adelaide was "karma" for her behavior towards Iga Swiatek. The fan wrote:

“6th loss in a row since July when she was so rude towards Iga. Karma is back xD"
“Collins has not won a single match since the Olympics. Karma. Love it," a fan posted.

Another fan claimed the World No. 11 should focus on her game and practice more instead of "terrorizing younger players" like Swiatek.

“Collins' 6th loss in a row. Maybe instead of terrorizing younger players, she should just get on the court and practice? I don't know, just giving an idea," a fan wrote.

Many fans praised Ons Jabeur for her victory over Collins, with one referring to the American as "Karen."

“Well done Ons, so good to see you back and well!! Karen, I mean Danielle..your rocking chair is calling you 😛," a fan wrote.
“Thanks Ons! taking out the 🗑️," a fan posted.

The World No. 11 continued her winning streak by triumphing over Clara Tauson and 19th seed Elise Mertens in the third and fourth rounds respectively. In the quarterfinals, she secured a victory over Alize Cornet and then defeated the seventh seed, Iga Swiatek, to advance to the final.

However, in the championship match, Danielle Collins fell to top seed Ashleigh Barty and finished as the runner-up.

On the other hand, Swiatek's best performance at the Australian Open also came in 2022 when she reached the semifinals. She defeated Harriet Dart, Rebecca Peterson, Daria Kasatkina, and Sorana Cirstea in the first four rounds.
