"For my ballerina" - Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian wows daughter Olympia with adorable ballerina pancake cart
Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian recently shared a pancake art he created for his eldest daughter, Olympia. The Reddit co-founder crafted a ballerina-shaped pancake.
Ohanian is a tech entrepreneur who co-founded Reddit in 2005. The 41-year-old, after parting ways with the social media platform, started his venture capital firm, Seven Seven Six.
Ohanian coincidentally met one of the greatest tennis players of all time, Serena Williams, in 2015. The couple got married two years later in 2017. Notably, the 23-time Grand Slam Champion was eight weeks pregnant with Olympia when she won her 23rd Grand Slam title, the 2017 Australian Open.
Ohanian and Williams often share their lives on social media, highlighting moments with Olympia. Ohanian has turned pancake-making into a tradition, frequently posting images and videos of his creations. Recently, he crafted a ballerina pancake art for his eldest daughter.
"Ballerina #PapaPancake for my Ballerina," Ohanian wrote on X.
Olympia, like her parents, is a true sports enthusiast. She has developed interests in tennis, golf, and soccer, and is already the youngest co-owner in professional sports, holding shares in the Los Angeles-based women's soccer team, Angel City Football.
Ohanian and Williams also have a younger daughter, Adira River Ohanian, who was born last year in August.
Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian on not naming his venture capital firm after Olympia
A few weeks ago, Alexis Ohanian explained why he didn’t name his firm Seven Seven Six after Olympia. The tech entrepreneur revealed that he initially considered naming the venture capital firm in her honor, as she inspired him to resign from Reddit.
“I get this question a lot. People want to know what 776 stand for? Well I was originally naming the firm after Olympia, our first born daughter, because she was a part of the inspiration for me to resign and start Seven Seven Six," he said.
Ohanian decided against naming his firm after Olympia, on Serena Williams' insistence, to avoid jealousy between their daughters. Instead, he chose "776," inspired by the first ancient Olympic Games.
“I didn’t name it Olympia Capital because my wife wisely pointed out that if we’d had another kid, spoiler we do have another kid, they would be jealous. Instead, thinking back to my ancient Greek history classes, 776 BCE was the year of the first ancient Olympic Games. The domain was available and I just went with 776,” he added.
The 41-year-old shared the clip on Instagram:
Following her retirement, Serena also shifted her focus to her firm, Serena Ventures, which aims to support startups.
