"Proud of you": When Ayan Broomfield lauded Frances Tiafoe's incredible campaign at the 2024 US Open
Frances Tiafoe had an impressive North American hard-court swing this year, reaching the semifinals at the Citi Open and the finals at the Cincinnati Open. The 26-year-old continued his strong performance at the season's final Major, the US Open.
Despite facing a challenging draw, Tiafoe maintained his momentum, defeating opponents including Aleksandar Kovacevic, Alexander Shevchenko (by walkover), Ben Shelton, Alexei Popyrin, and Grigor Dimitrov (by walkover), ultimately reaching the semifinals at Flushing Meadows.
Notably, this marked the second time Tiafoe reached the semifinals of the US Open, having done so in 2022. However, despite his strong efforts, the American fell short against compatriot Taylor Fritz, losing the match 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 4-6, 1-6, thereby ending his campaign.
Ayan Broomfield lauded Tiafoe's remarkable campaign at Flushing Meadows. The 27-year-old shared her boyfriend's picture on her Instagram story and wrote.
"What a tournament, proud of you."
Broomfield later referred to herself as Tiafoe's "biggest fan" while sharing a photo of the two kissing.
"Forever your biggest fan."
Tiafoe last competed at the Paris Masters as the fourteenth seed. However, the American faced a surprising exit, losing to Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.
