Alexei Popyrin recently got engaged to his long-time girlfriend, Amy Pederick. The couple received congratulatory messages from Frances Tiafoe's partner, Ayan Broomfield, and Tommy Paul's partner, Paige Lorenze, among others from the tennis world.
Taking to Instagram, Popyrin shared heartwarming images from his beachside proposal to Pederick. The couple shared a kiss while the Aussie tennis star was on his knees and later Pederick showed off her beautiful engagement ring.

Pederick has been in a relationship with Popyrin since 2019. Hailing from Great Britain, she is a professional physiotherapist who assists the 25-year-old with his fitness and training.

The couple follows Casper Ruud and his long-time girlfriend Maria Galligani in announcing their engagement. The Norwegian tennis star had also taken to Instagram to announce the joyous occasion with a beachside photoshoot.

Alexei Popyrin won the 2024 Canadian Open, a Masters 1000 event. He defeated five Top 20 players en route to the title including Ben Shelton, Grigor Dimitrov, Hubert Hurkacz, Sebastian Korda and Andrey Rublev. After winning the biggest title of his career, he gave a hilarious shoutout to his girlfriend Amy Pederick.
"Not just me, but my family, my girlfriend, my team, everybody around me. They have sacrificed their whole lives for me and for me to win this for them is just amazing," Popyrin said in his title-winning speech.
"This is one of the few weeks when my girlfriend isn't traveling with me and I win the tournament. I hope she comes to New York now," he joked.
Pederick had taken to Instagram to express her pride in Popyrin's achievement.
“Proud doesn’t even come close ♥️♥️ you’re so incredible and beyond deserving! Enjoy every second my love Alexei Popyrin 🥹🥹," Pederick wrote.
In the tournaments that followed, Alexei Popyrin could not pull off any deep runs accumulating several early exits. He finished the season with a 28-22 record and ranked World No. 24.
