Frances Tiafoe expressed love for his girlfriend Ayan Broomfield, after she shared some memorable moments from their time in Washington D.C. The couple has been together since 2015 but only made their relationship public in 2018.
Tiafoe recently completed his North American hard court swing following which his girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield, took to social media to share a collection of photos from the time they spent in Washington, D.C. The photos included images of her and Tiafoe enjoying a meal at a restaurant, as well as a picture of her with her sister, Kai.
Broomfield also shared images of herself at a football game at Northwest Stadium, followed by some photos of her at a baseball game between the Miami Marlins and the Washington Nationals at Washington National Stadium. It was at this game that Frances Tiafoe was invited to throw the ceremonial first pitch.
"so…DC is growing on me?" Broomfield captioned her Instagram post.
Tiafoe responded to Broomfield's photo series by leaving a comment with three red heart emojis.
" ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ," Tiafoe commented.
During the North American hard court swing, Frances Tiafoe had a quarterfinal finish at the 2024 Atlanta Open where he was defeated by eventual champion Yoshihito Nishioka. He also reached the semifinals at the Mubadala Citi DC Open, where he lost to compatriot and eventual champion Sebastian Korda.
Following these events, the former World No.10 participated in two ATP Masters 1000 hard court tournaments - the 2024 Canadian Open and the Cincinnati Open. In Montreal, Tiafoe was eliminated in the first round by Alejandro Tabilo. However, he bounced back at Cincinnati, making it to the final before ultimately losing the title to World No.1 Jannik Sinner.
During the 2024 US Open, Frances Tiafoe began his campaign with a victory over Aleksandar Kovacevic in the first round. He progressed to the third round after his second-round opponent, Alexander Shevchenko, retired due to injury during the third set.
In the third round, Tiafoe defeated fellow American Ben Shelton and then secured a win against Alexei Popyrin in the fourth round. He advanced to the semifinals after his quarterfinal opponent, Grigor Dimitrov, retired during the fourth set. Unfortunately, Tiafoe's journey came to an end in the final four after being defeated by eventual runner-up Taylor Fritz.
Frances Tiafoe will represent Team World at Laver Cup 2024
Frances Tiafoe will next represent Team World at the 2024 Laver Cup, which is taking place at the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany from September 20 to September 22, 2024.
Tiafoe will be joining the likes of Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur, Tommy Paul, Ben Shelton, Alejandro Tabilo, Francisco Cerúndolo, and Thanasi Kokkinakis. All these players will play under the Team World's captain, John McEnroe.
This year marks the seventh edition of the Laver Cup, and Tiafoe will be looking to help his team secure a third consecutive title, having won in London in 2022 and Vancouver in 2023.
