From Serena Williams to Coco Gauff: Simone Biles names her ideal tennis partner and player who would make a great gymnast during US Open visit

Renowned American gymnast Simone Biles was in attendance during the 2024 US Open. In an interview there, she named Serena Williams as her ideal tennis partner and Coco Gauff as someone who would make the best gymnast.

Biles delivered an incredible performance in the recent Summer Games in Paris, securing three gold medals and one silver. Notably, she secured the medals despite suffering a calf injury during the preliminary round of the quadrennial event.

After an emphatic campaign in the French capital, Biles recently arrived at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center during Jessica Pegula's quarterfinal match against Iga Swiatek, which Pegula eventually won.

The 27-year-old gymnast also appeared in an interview at the Flushing Meadows. When asked which tennis player she'd like to partner with on the court, she named the 23-time Major champion Serena Williams.

"Definitely, Serena Williams. I mean she is the GOAT in tennis, so that would be my partner if I had to choose," Biles said.

The 10-time Olympic medalist was further asked which tennis player would make a great gymnast, and she named Coco Gauff.

"I feel like there's so many. Honestly tennis players are taller than I thought. But maybe Coco," she said.

Biles added that she had always wanted to attend the US Open to support fellow athletes and was finally able to do so after finding some free time in her schedule.

"I always wanted to go to US Open to be able to support other athletes. And I have never had the opportunity so now that I have a little bit of free time in my schedule obviously I'm going to come out and support," she added.

Simone Biles was also present during the quarterfinal match between Jannik Sinner and Daniel Medvedev in which the Italian took the victory.

Serena Williams later congratulated Biles and Team USA for their achievement at the Summer Games in Paris. The 42-year-old shared a five-slide post on Instagram, elegantly dressed in black against a golden backdrop, celebrating Team USA's gymnastics gold medal triumph in the captions.
