“Get on board" - Jessica Pegula reacts to football legend Eli Manning traveling on New York subway reminiscent of her doing it during US Open 2024

Jessica Pegula recently reacted to American football legend Eli Manning traveling on the New York City subway which was reminiscent of her own experience of riding the subway during the 2024 US Open. Pegula had shared the video of her commuting on the subway following her second-round match against compatriot Sofia Kenin at the New York Major.

Manning is a former professional football quarterback who played for the New York Giants in the National Football League (NFL) for 16 seasons. He recently posted a selfie of himself in a subway station. In the caption, the American mentioned that it was his first time commuting on the subway.

“First time riding the subway!" Eli Manning captioned his Instagram post.

The news of Eli Manning riding the subway for the first time was also shared by the official social media accounts of ESPN NFL which was later re-shared by Jessica Pegula. The former World No. 3 reacted to the post, writing:

“Get on board @elimanning,"

Jessica Pegula concluded her 2024 tennis season by competing at the WTA Finals. She had a good season this year, winning two titles - the ecotrans Ladies Open in Berlin and then successfully defending her title at the Canadian Open.

Pegula also finished as the runner-up at the Cincinnati Open and the US Open and had semifinal appearances at the Adelaide International, San Diego Open, and the Charleston Open.

Jessica Pegula will begin her 2025 season at Brisbane International

Jessica Pegula will kick off her 2025 season by competing at the Brisbane International. This will mark her tournament debut at the WTA 500 hard court event in Queensland.

Speaking about competing at the tournament, Pegula shared that she is "excited" about returning to Australia to start her season. She also expressed that she is looking forward to making her tournament debut at the Brisbane International

“I’m so excited to be coming back down under, it’s such a great place to start the year. I’m looking forward to making my debut at the Brisbane International tournament . I hope to see you there,” Pegula said [via Brisbane International].

The Brisbane International is scheduled to take place from December 29, 2024, to January 5, 2025, and the matches will be played at the Queensland Tennis Centre.

In addition to Pegula, the players who are expected to participate in the tournament include last year's runner-up Aryna Sabalenka, Emma Navarro, Victoria Azarenka, Novak Djokovic, Frances Tiafoe, and Holger Rune, among others.
