Tennis fans recently reacted to Lorenzo Musetti's victory over Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Zverev was the defending champion at the tournament after winning the gold in 2021 at the Tokyo Olympics.

Musetti is seeded 11th at the Games and kicked off his campaign with impressive straight-sets wins over Gael Monfils and Mariano Navone in the first and second rounds respectively. The Italian then went on to defeat the seventh seed Taylor Fritz in the third round with a score of 6-4, 7-5.

Most recently, Musetti defeated third seed and defending gold medalist Zverev 7-5, 7-5 in two hours and four minutes to secure his spot in the semifinals in Paris.

A few tennis fans online were happy to see Musetti reach the final four and expressed their delight about the same on social media. One fan stated that they were glad that the "domestic abuser" was out, referring to the earlier domestic abuse allegations against Zverev.

Another fan claimed that Musetti's win over the German would pave the way for an easier semifinal match for Novak Djokovic.

Lorenzo Musetti will face Novak Djokovic or Stefanos Tsitsipas at Paris Olympics SF

Lorenzo Musetti will take on top seed Novak Djokovic or eighth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semifinals of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Djokovic, who is making his fifth appearance at the Games, kicked off his campaign by defeating Matthew Ebden and Rafael Nadal in the first and second rounds respectively. The Serb then defeated Dominik Koepfer in the third round to set up a quarterfinal match against Tsitsipas.

Meanwhile, Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated Zizou Bergs, Dan Evans, and 12th seed Sebastian Baez in the first three rounds to reach the quarterfinals.

Lorenzo Musetti has faced Novak Djokovic seven times on the ATP Tour and has only won one match against him which was in 2023 at the Monte-Carlo Masters. Musetti has faced Tsitsipas five times on the tour and is yet to win a match against him.
