"Great vibes" - Boris Becker delighted by Aryna Sabalenka & her team's champagne war to celebrate her US Open 2024 title win
Boris Becker enjoyed the celebratory scenes inside Aryna Sabalenka's dressing room after her 2024 US Open triumph. The Belarusian and her team popped open several bottles of champagne after she revealed her plans of indulging in 'a lot' of drinks with her team.
Sabalenka faced Jessica Pegula in the US Open women's singles final on Saturday, September 7, at the Arthur Ashe Stadium. The in-form pair had only lost one set on their way to the summit clash. However, it was the Belarusian who came out on top 7-5, 7-5 to win her first US Open title.
In the process, she became only the fifth woman to win two hardcourt Grand Slams in a season, as she had also won the Australian Open in January. During a post-match interview, Sabalenka was asked how she planned to celebrate the victory with her team.
“We’re probably gonna drink a lot,” the 26-year-old replied.
The US Open's official X account posted a video of Sabalenka celebrating with her team, opening and spraying several bottles of champagne. The video was also shared by another tennis-related X account, and German tennis legend Boris Becker reposted it with the caption,
"Great vibes within TeamSabalenka"

During her on-court interview, Sabalenka showered her team with love and a hilarious message that without her, they would not exist.
"Let's be honest, without them it wouldn't be me, I wouldn't exist and as I always say, without me, you guys wouldn't exist. So you're welcome," Sabalenka said.
"No, no, I love you guys. Your support is everything. You are my family and I cannot imagine my tennis life and my personal life without you guys. I really love you. I say it, like not often, but I say it sometimes and I say it loud. Guys, I love you so much. Thank you for being you," she added.
Sabalenka now holds three Grand Slam titles, adding this US Open triumph to her previous two Australian Open victories. She has closed in on World No. 1 Iga Swiatek, who holds five Grand Slam titles.
