American tennis star Taylor Fritz and his girlfriend Morgan Riddle found an unexpected way to unwind by attending the 2024 League of Legends World Championship Finals in London on November 2. This outing came just hours after Fritz and his girlfriend, Morgan Riddle, experienced a terrifying attempted break-in at their Airbnb in the city.
Fritz and Riddle were staying at an Airbnb when they were awakened in the early morning hours by the sound of someone attempting to unlock their front door. Riddle, a social media influencer, later shared her harrowing experience on her Instagram Story on November 2, describing how the couple was startled awake around 4 AM to the sound of someone entering the code to break into their apartment.
"At 4 am this morning, Taylor and I wake up to someone trying to enter the code and break into the front door of the Airbnb we’re staying at in London," Riddle wrote.
The 27-year-old recounted that Fritz immediately sprang into action, and tried to secure a secondary lock on the door. However, to their shock, they discovered that the second lock had already been removed. In a moment of humor amid the chaos, Riddle remarked that, from all the objects available, Fritz chose his trusty tennis racket as a makeshift weapon to defend them if the situation worsened.
"Of all the potential weapons in the house, this guy grabs a racket," she joked.
Despite the unsettling experience, the couple chose to move forward with their day. Riddle attended a Pilates class and enjoyed brunch, embracing a return to normalcy.
Fritz, a video game enthusiast, found his escape by immersing himself in the world of esports, sharing a snapshot on his Instagram Story of his journey with his girlfriend through the London Metro to the League of Legends World Championship Finals.
The American shared another picture to highlight the packed train, with only part of Riddle's head peeking into the frame, making it look as though Fritz was towering over her in height.

Taylor Fritz's girlfriend Morgan Riddle talked about experiencing several disturbing incidents with Airbnb. After numerous unsettling experiences, she advised travelers, especially those traveling alone or in groups of women, to opt for hotels for safety.
In the series of aforementioned Instagram stories discussing the break-in attempt, the 27-year-old also shared a terrifying incident from 2017, when she awoke to find an intruder standing over her, and another incident this summer when she discovered someone robbing her rental.
"In 2017, I stayed in an airbnb and woke up to a man standing over me while i was sleeping. This july, i stayed in an airbnb and my friend and i walked in on someone actively robbing our house," Riddle wrote.
Labeling Airbnb "unsafe," the social media influencer cited multiple negative experiences with the service.
"Airbnb's are SO unsafe. They are intentionally targeted in many cities. Houses are nice for longer stays, but please just stay in a hotel, especially if you are traveling alone or only with girls. I swore I’d never stay in one again after my past experiences and clearly didn’t learn my lesson," Riddle wrote.
After his early eliminations in the singles and doubles events at the Paris Masters, Taylor Fritz's next appearance will be at the 2024 ATP Finals, set to take place in Turin, Italy, from November 10-17.
