"Had me on the edge of the seat" - Coco Gauff enjoys Sunday morning 'movie date' with mother Candi

American tennis star Coco Gauff recently shared a picture of herself watching the American thriller film 'Missing' with her mother, Candi. The tennis star also congratulated the film's lead actor, Storm Reid, for her work.

Gauff and Reid are both rising stars in their respective fields. The former is a tennis prodigy, while the latter has achieved considerable success in acting at a very young age.

Gauff made history a few years ago by becoming one of the youngest players ever ranked in the top 100 athletes by WTA. Storm, on the other hand, has starred in some major productions, including A Wrinkle In Time, The Invisible Man and Euphoria.

They both have been vocal activists within their communities too, frequently speaking up against social and racial injustice. They have used their platforms to engage with younger audiences to emphasize voting rights, education, and various other important issues.

After watching the movie 'Missing,' Gauff took to social media and said:

"Such a great movie #missing! had me on the edge of my seat and making up so many theories haha. So good! @stormreid. Sunday movie date with my mom <3 @candigauff"

Coco Gauff began the 2023 season in strong fashion, winning the ASB Classic. But she failed to replicate her form at the Australian Open, where she was eliminated after losing to former Roland Garros champion Jelena Ostapenko in the fourth round.

The 18-year-old will return to action next at the WTA 500 Qatar Open, which will be held from February 13 to 18. She won the doubles title in Doha with her partner Jessica Pegula last year.

Gauff will then travel to Dubai to compete in the first WTA 1000 of the season — the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. The field is set to be incredibly strong, with 19 of the top 20 players in the WTA rankings set to compete.

Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka, the latter of whom won her maiden Grand Slam title last month, will be the top two seeds. Also on the official entry list is Arab icon Ons Jabeur, a two-time Grand Slam finalist in 2022.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from February 19 to 25.
