Has Sania Mirza won Wimbledon? Exploring her performance at the Grand Slam tournament in London

Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza has had a notable career at Wimbledon. With an impressive record of 27 wins (excluding one bye) and 13 losses in the ladies' doubles events, Sania has proven her worth on the grass courts of the All England Club in London.

But has she won Wimbledon? The answer is a resounding yes! In 2015, Sania Mirza, partnering Swiss legend Martina Hingis, clinched the women's doubles title, becoming the first Indian woman to win a doubles Grand Slam.

Sania and Martina, known as Team 'Santina,' were the top seeds in the women's doubles category and lived up to their billing. They dropped just one set in six matches. In the final, they faced a tough challenge from Russian duo Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina but came from a set down and 2-5 behind in the final set to win 5-7, 7-6 (7/4), 7-5.

Sania's journey to the Wimbledon title was not easy. She made her main-draw debut 10 years prior to her win and faced many challenges along the way.

Sania Mirza had previously won three mixed doubles titles at the Majors but had not yet won a women's doubles title.

Hingis, on the other hand, had won Wimbledon doubles titles with Helena Sukova in 1996 and Jana Novotna in 1998. The Wimbledon 2015 title was their first and only title as a pair at SW19, and it was a memorable one, especially for Sania Mirza.

The Indian star's best performance in the mixed doubles category of Wimbledon was a semifinal finish in 2022, where she partnered Croatia's Mate Pavic.
