Holger Rune's sister Alma shares adorable picture of 'happy' Dane as he joins her for Christmas holidays

Holger Rune's sister, Alma, recently shared an adorable picture of the Dane after they reunited for the Christmas holidays. Alma, who is a professional model, is four years older than her brother and also played tennis with Rune when they were children.

Rune wrapped up his 2024 season by competing at the Paris Masters where he reached the semifinals before falling to eventual champion Alexander Zverev. On his way to the final, he defeated the likes of Matteo Arnaldi, Alexander Bublik, Arthur Cazaux, and Alex de Minaur.

Following the conclusion of his tennis season, Holger Rune took some time away from the tennis court to spend time with his family. The former World No.4's sister, Alma recently took to social media to share a delightful picture of her brother.

In the picture, the Dane had a big smile on his face and Alma captioned the image by stating that she was picking up Rune, calling him a "happy face" ahead of the Christmas holidays.

Holger Rune kicked off his 2024 season at the Brisbane International where he reached the final. He had a semifinal finish at the Open Sud de France before retiring from his match against Borna Coric due to a right forearm injury.

The Dane also reached the semifinals at the Mexican Open, BMW Open in Munich, Cincinnati Open, Japan Open, Swiss Indoors in Basel, and the Paris Masters.

The former World No.4 also competed in all four Grand Slam tournaments, reaching the fourth round at the French Open and Wimbledon Championships. His campaign at the Australian Open ended in the second round and he lost in the first round at the US Open.

Holger Rune will begin his 2025 season at Brisbane International

Holger Rune will start his 2025 season at the Brisbane International. The ATP 250 hard court event is scheduled to run from December 27, 2024, to January 5, 2025, with the matches taking place at the Queensland Tennis Centre.

Speaking about playing at the Brisbane International, Rune said:

“I have great memories from Brisbane and reaching the final in my first event. I look forward to getting out to Australia and starting the year fresh in Brisbane.” [via Brisbane International]

In 2024, Rune was the top seed at the Brisbane International and he began his campaign by defeating Max Purcell and Alexander Shevchenko in the first and second rounds respectively.

In the quarterfinals, the Dane triumphed over qualifier James Duckworth and continued his winning streak by securing a victory against Roman Safiullin in the semifinals to earn himself a spot in the final match.

However, in the title match, second-seeded Grigor Dimitrov emerged victorious over Holger Rune with a score of 7–6(5), 6–4 to win the 2024 Brisbane International title. This was the Bulgarian's second win in Brisbane, following his first title win in 2017 when he defeated Kei Nishikori in the final.
