Six of these came at the French Open while five came at Wimbledon from 1976-1980. The Swede's record of five successive titles at the grass-court Major was matched by Roger Federer, who triumphed from 2003-2007.
Borg surprisingly retired from tennis in 1983, aged only 26 but he did make an attempt to return to the sport during the early 1990, with his final match coming at the 1993 Krenmlin Cup.
Bjorn Borg has been married thrice, with his first wife being Mariana Simonescu, who was also a tennis player. The couple got married in 1980 before divorcing in 1984.
Borg's first son Robin was born in 1985, with the latter's mother being Jannike Bjorling, a model from Sweden. The tennis great's second marriage was to Italian singer Loredana Berte from 1989-1993.
He married Patricia Ostfeld in 2002 and their son Leo was born in 2003. Leo Borg has taken to tennis like his father, and has been in the news lately because he was Rafael Nadal's first opponent at the Nordea Open in Bastad.
Nadal defeated the 21-year-old 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the second round of the ATP 250 tournament, where he will take on Cameron Norrie.
Bjorn Borg's ex-wife Loredana Berte wanted to "annoy" ex-husband by going to Eurovision 2024
Bjorn Borg's ex-wife Loredana Berte's song "Pazza" was competing at the Sanremo Music Festival 2024 in Italy during the month of February. Berte said during a press conference that she wanted to win the event and subsequently qualify for Eurovision 2024, which was held in Malmo.
The reason behind this was so that the 73-year-old could annoy Bjorn Borg.
"Vote for me, I want to win, I would like to go to Eurovision because it is held in Malmo so that I can annoy my ex-husband. And I get a nice revenge," Berte said.
Berte was unable to qualify for Eurovision 2024 as her song finished seventh after five nights of voting at the Sanremo Music Festival and thus, failed to reach the competition's superfinal.
