How did Yuki Bhambri perform in the US Open 2024?
Bhambri and Olivetti made an impressive start to their campaign in men’s doubles at Flushing Meadows. In the first round, they beat the American pair of Ryan Seggerman and Patrick Trhac in straight sets. With a win percentage of 88 from their first serves, Bhambri and Olivetti dominated their opponents.
Thereafter, they had to fight their way out in the second-round match against Austin Krajicek and Jean-Julien Rojer. But in the end, Bhambri and Olivetti survived, winning the match 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.
In the third round, the duo just could not find their momentum. They dropped their serve four times while their opponents did not give them even a single chance of a breakpoint.
Bhambri’s defeat also meant that India’s campaign in men’s doubles at the US Open came to an end. Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden, the second seed, also crashed out in the pre-quarters after losing to Argentina’s Andres Molteni and Maximo Gonzales.
