A closer look at Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian's earnings from his Crypto investments
Serena Williams' husband Alex Ohanian reportedly earned a hefty profit from his initial investments in Coinbase. The American entrepreneur has invested in 29 startups so far using cryptocurrency’s blockchain technology.
As per reports from Forbes, he raised around $500 million in February last year, with major earnings coming from Crypto.
He also used his earnings from Coinbase to kickstart his firm 776, a venture capital that specializes in blockchain and other tech-related investments. Amalgamating all of his sources of income, the Reddit co-founder's current net worth is estimated to be around $70 million, which is still smaller than Serena Williams' $260 million, according to Forbes.
Ohanian gifted Williams a luxurious ring on the occasion of their engagement, worth around $3 million. It is an 18 carat ring with a large emerald-cut diamond, with small gems on either side. It also has an eternity band that exhibits a teardrop halo design.
Williams' engagement ring was included in the South China Morning Post's list of the most expensive celebrity rings.
The ring that topped the list was that of Grace Kelly, a former American actress. She received an emerald-cut diamond engagement ring from her husband Prince Rainier of Monaco, which was valued at $4 million in 1956.
The list also included names of other famous celebrities like Kate Upton, Jennifer Lopez and Kate Middleton.

He has since become a regular figure among the crowd, cheering for the 41-year-old during her matches.
About a month after the couple's engagement, Williams announced that she was pregnant. It was on September 1, 2017 that the pair welcomed their daughter Olympia Ohanian.

In her last ever appearance as a professional tennis player, at the 2022 US Open, Serena Williams received support from Ohanian and daughter Olympia from the stands.
