"I felt so old" - Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf's daughter Jaz ringing in her 21st birthday leaves Serena Williams' ex-coach reeling in shock
Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf's daughter Jaz recently celebrated her 21st birthday with a fun party. The occasion left Serena Williams' former coach Rennae Stubbs astonished by how quickly Jaz has grown up.
Agassi and Graf, who tied the knot in 2001, have two children together. Their son Jaden was born the same year as their wedding, and they welcomed their daughter Jaz in October 2003.
Jaz turned 21 earlier this month, choosing to celebrate her birthday with a night out in Las Vegas. Her brother Jaden's girlfriend Catherine Holt documented the festivities on social media, sharing a glimpse of the birthday girl dancing and celebrating joyfully with her friends.
Coincidentally, Rennae Stubbs was in Las Vegas on the same day to cheer on the New York Liberty in their WNBA playoffs semifinal against the Aces. During a phone call with Steffi Graf, Stubbs learned that Jaz was ringing in her 21st birthday that evening, which left her reeling in shock and feeling "so old."
"Her daughter just turned 21. She texted me, we were texting the other day and I was like, 'Wait! What?' Because I was in Vegas at the same time, I went to watch Liberty beat the Aces. And she’s like, 'Jaz is having her 21st birthday tonight.' I was like, 'What? She’s 21?' Oh my god, I felt so old in that moment,"
Steffi Graf on her daughter Jaz's love for dance and hip-hop: "It's fun seeing her branch out into something that might not be as natural for her"
Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf have been open about not pushing either of their kids to follow in their footsteps and play professional tennis. While their son Jaden is making strides in baseball to make Agassi a household name in another sport, their daughter Jaz has been exploring her interests in dance, fashion, and fitness.
In a 2013 interview with The Associated Press, Graf disclosed that Jaz was very taken with dance and hip-hop, expressing delight at seeing her daughter branch out into interests she may not be naturally inclined to.
"Jaz, the last three years, she's really loving dance, hip-hop. It's been fun seeing her branch out into something that might not be as natural for her. But she's coming out of her shell and really enjoying it," Steffi Graf said.
Jaz, who describes herself as a fitness trainer on social media, recently shared an update on her gym setup, showing off a new piece of equipment. She also highlighted a tennis addition—a Playmate tennis ball launcher.
