"I can't with him, he's like an 8-year old" - Fans express amusement at Hubert Hurkacz's reactions in latest ATP promo video
An ATP video of Hubert Hurkacz has gone viral on social media, with tennis fans across the world delighted by the Pole's behind-the-scenes theatrics.
On Wednesday, Hurkacz defeated Russian qualifier Pavel Kotov in straight sets to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2023 Dubai Tennis Championships. In the previous round, the Pole overcame Alexander Shevchenko 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7).
Ahead of the quarterfinals, Hurkacz sat down with the ATP video crew for an interview. During filming, the World No. 10 was handed the producer's mobile phone and asked to take a look at some autographs of players.
When asked what he saw, he jokingly began to read out the notifications the producer had received on his phone. He even went so far as to check the message the producer had received from their mother.
Tennis fans around the world were thrilled to get a rare glimpse of Hurkacz's off-court personality. Taking to social media, one fan commented on how the Pole seemed like an eight-year-old in the video:
"I can't with him, he's like an 8yo 😂😂"
Another user commented that the video brought a smile to their face.

Hubert Hurkacz to face Novak Djokovic in the 2023 Dubai Tennis Championships quarterfinals
World No. 1 Novak Djokovic will face fifth seed Hubert Hurkacz for a spot in the semifinals of the Dubai Tennis Championships. Both Djokovic and Hurkacz have had similar journeys to the quarterfinals, having to battle through a third-set tiebreak in the first round before securing a straight-sets victory in the second.
The two players have faced each other four times in the past, with Djokovic emerging victorious in each encounter. Their most recent clash was in the quarterfinals of the 2022 Madrid Masters, while their only prior meeting on a hardcourt was in the semifinals of the 2021 Paris Masters.
Djokovic, who recently broke Steffi Graf's record of most weeks as World No. 1, is looking to win his sixth title in Dubai and also to extend his 14-match winning streak in 2023. Hubert Hurkacz, meanwhile, won the Open 13 title in Marseille last week and will be brimming with confidence as he enters the semifinal.
